Instead of pointing me to the file I was attempting to locate, it said "Match Found: (file path) The Sims 3\Thumbnails\CASThumbnails.package. Everything went smoothly until the log file Packer made for me. I tried the above process with store content just now. I'm not entirely sure what these files are or what they do. package files to the DCBackup folder that have long strings of numbers and letters for names.

Sims3packs that are dropped into the Downloads folder can then be installed through the launcher. package files in the mods folder (CC) - not official store content installed through the launcher. This process has worked for me in the past, but only when searching. Every item in TS3 has a unique instance number, so there'll only be one that matches. The log normally will tell you the filename of the file containing that instance number. It will prompt you to open a log when it's done. It will search subfolders too, so you can tell it to search the whole Sims 3 folder. Type or paste the instance number into the box for instance numbers. A box will pop up with some blank fields.

Click on the binoculars icon in the upper corner. It's not a mod, it's a standalone program you can find on their website.

You already know how to do this, judging by the screenshot lol. The normal process goes like this: Get the instance number of the CAS item you're looking to identify. You'll probably have to identify it the long and tedious way. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the trick to work with the store content.
